Certain apps that haven’t been optimised
for Marshmallow can drain your battery. The fi rst
step is to fi nd the guilty apps by entering the
Settings, tapping Battery and checking usage.
1 Locate problem apps
Your best bet will be to delete the app and
then reinstall it from the Play store, as you may not
be running the latest version. Tap and hold on the
app then drag to Uninstall.
2 Delete apps
Head into the Google Play store and type
the name of the app into the search bar. Tap Install
and it will reinstall the app, hopefully with all of the
updates and bug fi xes.
3 Reinstall the app
Explore you
A new feature of Android Marshmallow th
was rather overlooked was the new file
manager. Previous iterations of Android had
you scrabbling around looking for your photos,
downloads and app folders, seemingly
scattered around your phone’s memory at
random. This has now been corrected,
meaning that the best app for organising the
fi les on your Android phone is now no longer
an app! You can fi nd your fi les after a little bit
of a search by heading fi rst into your Settings.
Then scroll down to Storage & USB, scroll
further down to Explore, tap on that and you’ll
fi nd a list of everything currently saved on your
device’s internal memory. It may still need
some work, but it’s great that we fi nally have a
native fi le manager to replace third-party apps
from the Google Play store.
