CHAPTER 16: The Future of Android: The 64-Bit Android 5.0 OS 631

After you launch Android 5 Studio as an administrator, you will find that your HelloAndroid5 project
has been seriously compromised, as can be shown in Figure 16-45, by no (project code-based)
fault of your own! Click the blue Open Android SDK Manager link at the bottom next to the error
message to run the SDK Manager.

Figure 16-44. This time, you’re going to run your updates by right-clicking Android Studio and choosing Run as Administrator

Figure 16-45. Relaunch Android Studio to discover that the failed installs from the previous update compromised the project

As you can see in your SDK Manager utility window in Figure 16-46, Android 5.0 Studio is
suggesting that you install Android 5.0, code-named L API Level 20, Android 4.4W (Wear) API
Level 20, and Android TV, which is what is currently available. In case you are wondering why
wearables are at 4.4W, my guess is that the SDK is still at the 32-bit level, and thus it will use
a 4.x numbering scheme, which will probably come to signify a 32-bit platform.
