646 CHAPTER 16: The Future of Android: The 64-Bit Android 5.0 OS

Select the Android TV 720p Device Definition, Create AVD, and configure the AVD, as shown in
Figure 16-67.

Notice in Figure 16-67 in the middle that I selected Android 5.0 L Preview as the target and the
Intel Atom x86 processor as the CPU, since you have installed the System Image for that hardware
emulator. I selected the Skin with Dynamic Hardware Controls and 512MB of RAM, since my
workstation only has 4GB of DDR3. I Use the Host GPU as well, since I have an AMD 64-bit
workstation with GPU support. Once you click the OK button, you get the Result of Creating AVD
dialog, which is shown on the right side of Figure 16-67.

Once an AVD is created, it will appear in the Android Virtual Devices tab of the Android Virtual Device
(AVD) Manager dialog, as shown in Figure 16-68. Select it and then click on the Start button on the
right side of the dialog, which will launch the AVD emulator in exactly the same way that it works in
Eclipse ADT.
