  1. Next, select the GIMP Edit menu, and then the Copy menu option shown
    in Figure 3 -1 3. This will copy the currently selected logo image data to the
    clipboard. This is because the GIMP copy operation looks to see if there is
    a selection, and understands that if there is, that your intention is to copy
    the pixels inside of that selection area. It is important to notice the yellow
    pop-ups in many of these GIMP screenshots. These will appear in GIMP
    when you have your mouse over an icon, menu option, or tool setting, and
    they will tell you precisely what that GIMP UI element will do! I have included
    these pale yellow pop-ups in my GIMP screenshots during in chapter in
    order to make it easier for you to follow along with the work process we are
    learning about.
