uard dogs
can be
lured away
by bones,
and your
neighbour Doris is so
deaf that she wouldn’t
even be able to hear
burglars if they bashed
the front door down with
a battering ram. With that
in mind, it’s hard to go on
holiday without the fear

of a stranger rummaging
through your underpants
drawer before making off
with your new TV.
Luckily, home security
cams have improved a lot
over the past few years,
and the motion-triggered
gadgets we’ve tested
here will do a better job
than any well-meaning
neighbour – with neat
tricks such as sending

live broadcasts to your
phone, face recognition
and communication
between cams.
While it’s true that
some of these products
are costly investments
(especially when there’s
a subscription involved),
you might well decide
it’s a price worth paying
to know that your lucky
pants are safe.

OUTDOOR
CAMERAS
An outdoor camera
is useful enough for
keeping an eye on your
car. But the deterrent
eff ect means they’ll
also intimidate burglars
so that your house
won’t be considered
a potential target.

INDOOR
CAMERAS
You might not like the
idea of watching a thief
prowling around your
home, but an indoor
camera can help to
bring the intruder to
justice – as well as
checking up on pets
while you’re at work.
