BYO Aircraft

In keeping with past events,
air show organisers are
encouraging aircraft owners
to be part of the Avalon
show by arriving in their own
machines. The invitation is
extended to owners of popular
aircraft types used in general
aviation in Australia, and owners
of antique, warbird, amateur-built,
airsport aircraft and other special
interest aircraft. To encourage
participation, air show organisers
have offered benefits for owners
and crew, including:

  • Admission passes for pilots and
crew (up to four per aircraft)

  • Participation patches for pilot and
crew (up to four per aircraft)

    • Automatic participation in the
      Concours d ’Elegance

    • Access to Club Airsport with its
      viewing area and refreshment tent

    • Access to the Airshows
      DownUnder Club, an exclusive
      site for use by performers,
      participants, volunteers, staff and
      invited visitors, where meals and
      drinks are available for purchase.

    • Free use of camping facilities
located at Lara for the pilot and
      up to three crew.

The business end
For many attendees at the Australian
International Airshow, the Friday
Night Alight air show marks the
end of their productive week, not the
beginning. Exhibitions such as Avalon
are a crossroads for the aviation
and aerospace industries, with the
Tuesday to Friday industry-only
days presenting an opportunity to
introduce their products, meet with
many clients in one place and see what
competitors have on display. With
