  1. http://www.skywatcherusa.com Though
    currently available in North America
    only from Canadian dealers, SkyWatcher
    showcased its heavy-duty EQ8 SynScan
GPS mount with Freedom Find encod-
ers. These allow users to manually slew
telescopes and cameras around the fi eld of
view without the mount losing its posi-
    tional accuracy.

  2. planewave.com The team at PlaneWave
Instruments was on hand to answer ques-
tions and demonstrate its attractive line of
    corrected Dall-Kirkham astrographs and
    German equatorial mounts.

  3. http://www.televue.com Tele Vue showed its
new 3-inch BIG Paracorr for visual and
    photographic use on large-aperture, fast
    Newtonian telescopes with 3-inch focusers.

  4. http://www.qhyccd.com Camera manufac-
turer QHYCCD showcased its new com-
pletely wireless CCD camera. The QHY
    InterCam 8300 includes a built-in wireless
router, internal USB drive, and Pentium
processor, enabling users to take deep-
sky CCD images without the need for an
    external computer at the telescope.

  5. http://www.newmoontelescopes.com New
Moon Telescopes had a great display of its
    custom mid- and large-aperture Dobso-
nians. Of special note were the company’s
    new lightweight-aluminum altitude
bearings with a textured powder coating
that produced just the right amount of
    “stiction” for a Dob mount.

  6. http://www.vixenoptics.com Vixen also
showed off its new Transformer German
equatorial mount, which is off ered in fi ve
    confi gurations, ranging from all-manual
controls to Go-To slewing with the Star
Book One controller. Additionally, all of its
equatorial mounts now have an updated
design for their polar-alignment fi nders. ✦
