During the winter, visitors should wear warm, waterproof clothing as

there’s no shelter from the elements on the terrace.

Information boards detailing the different types of aircraft using

the airport are provided in both German and English and there are

telescopes, though there’s a fee to use them.

A restaurant downstairs overlooks the ramp and several shops sell

food and drink in the terminal. Toilets are down in the basement.

One of Salzburg’s most important carriers, Turkish Airlines,

serves the airport with a mix of Boeing 737-800s and, rare in UK

skies, Airbus A319s. The airport’s also home to several  ight

training organisations whose aircraft can be seen working the circuit

throughout the day.

The terrace is signposted throughout the terminal and its excellent

location means it is well worth a visit.

Stunning scenery provides a wonderful backdrop to proceedings at

Salzburg. Visible on the far side of the runway is The Flying Bulls’

Hangar-7 and Hangar-8.

Niki Airbus A320 OE-LEF taxies away from one of the remote stands on

the main ramp during a snow shower. Visitors should dress appropriately

as there’s no shelter on the viewing terrace from the weather.
