Preparation

Startbytracingtwo(2)copies
ofthecrazyblockpatternontoa
pieceoffreezerpaper.Rememberto
transferthenumbersof each piece.
Do not cut out yet.

Prepareyourfabricsbypressing
themallwell.Stacka pileoffive
(5)dierentydpiecesontopof
eachotherwithrightsidesfacingup.
Pinthepaperpatternonthetoplayer
ofthestacktooneside– youwill
need the ocuts for later(Fig 1 ).

a bittrickyif yourfabricsarethick,
butwedonotneedaccuratecutting
at thisstage,sojustdoyourbest.Do
notshue thepiecesabout,make
sureyoukeepthemintheright
sequence and stacked as a square.

Removethepaperfromthetop
layerandlayeachnumbered
patternpieceundereachstack.You
shouldhavetwo(2)pilesof five (5)
divided squares(Fig 2 ).

Arrangingthestacks

Rearrangeyourstacksasfollows:
QLeavethe stack labelled 0 as
it is.
QTa ket hetopf abr icf r omst ack 1
andplaceat the bottom of
thestack.
QTakethetoptwo(2)fabrics
fromstack2 and add them to
thebottom.
QTake the top three (3) fabrics from

Placethecut-upsquareonto
a trayasit is andtakeit withyou
toyoursewingmachine.It is very
easytogetthemmuddled up
so do be careful.

Takea pieceoffabricfromthetop
ofeachofstacks0 and1 andsew
rightsidestogetherwithainseam.
Makesureyouaresewingthecorrect
edgestogether.Youdonotneedtobe
tooaccuratewithmatchingthesides.
Concentrateduringtheconstruction
ofthefirstblockbecauseyouwill
notyetbefamiliarwiththeshapes–
however,allwillfallinplace if you
follow the sequence.
