Daryl McCormack

“I’m Daryl.” So reads Daryl McCormack’s modest

bio to his 10,400 Instagram followers, a number sure

to skyrocket soon. The Tipperary actor, 29, was in the

last two series of Peaky Blinders, has played Romeo

and Othello on stage and later this year is appearing in

Sharon Horgan’s new series, Bad Sisters, on Apple

TV+. Entertainment-industry site Deadline says he’ll

“give Regé-Jean Page a run for his money”. But first

he’s about to star in one of the best films of the

summer, Good Luck to You, Leo Grande (above), in

which he plays a charming (and, yes, very fit) sex

worker opposite Emma Thompson’s Nancy, who’s

looking for sexual enlightenment. Boy, does she get it.

Why we’re loco for Togo (sofas)

That tube-of-toothpaste-shaped couch that’s all over social media

is called Togo (above) — so far, #togosofa has clocked up more than

18,000 posts on Instagram, while on TikTok #togocouch has more than

760,000 views. Designed in 1973 by Michel Ducaroy for the French

furniture-maker Ligne Roset, its famous fans include Avril Lavigne,

Thierry Henry and Lenny Kravitz. Radical in its youth, to its new

Zoomer fanbase it looks cosily retro. As TikTokkers often comment,

its only drawback is the price tag (a small one costs more than £2,000),

so lookalikes abound. Best of the mimics is Urban Outfitters’

recycled-leather Greta (£499; urbanoutfitters.com). Fauxgo, anyone?
