he^ Royal^ New^ Zealand^ AirTForce^ (RNZAF)^ has^ a^ long


history^ and^ traces^ its^ roots back^ to^ the^ early^ 1920s^
 1923 on^ 14th^ June^ when^ the^ New^ Zealand^ Permanent
Air^ Force,^ made^ up^ of elements^ and^ a^ few^ persons^
had^ served^ with^ thewho(British)^ Royal^ Air^ Force,^ was
formed^ as^ part^ of the^ New^ Zealand^ Army.^

as^ the^ Royal^ New^ Zealand Air^ Force^ but^ it^ was^
Anotherpart^ of^ the^ Army.^ still^ three^ years^ were^ to^ pass
beforebecame^ the^ RNZAF^ an^ independent^ service.^

Anniversary^2017 saw^ the^ 80th^ In^ of^ the^ RNZAF^ as^ an
independent^ service^ and^ the RNZAF^ organised^ an^ air
to^ commemorate^ thetattoooccasion.^ The^ event^ brought
ato^ wide^ array^ of^ aircraft^ entertain^ the^ crowd^ in^ a^
air^ show,^ whilethrillingshowcasing^ the^ capability,^ personnel
andof^ skills^ the^ RNZAF.^
a^ RNZAF^ is^ now^ force^ predominately^ turbo‐prop/helo^ The


and^ the^ jet^ noise^ during the^ event^ was^ provided^ by^
RAAF^ F‐18s^ and^ thetheUSAF^ F‐16.^ This^ was^ counterbalanced

bydisplays^ the^ flypasts^ and^ of^ the^ ‘old‐timers’^
Avenger,as^ the^ Spitfire,^ such^ Harvard^ and^ Devon.^
