These components are shipped to the
Dreamliner’s final assembly lines in
Seattle and Charleston using modi-
fied 747 freighters known as 747LCFs
or Dreamlifters. The out-sized aircraft
are a spectacular sight at Centrair
as they take off and land sever-
al times a week. In addition to the
Boeing component shuttle, the airport
is a relatively busy freight hub with
All Nippon Airways Cargo 767s, Air
Hong Kong’s Airbus A300s and 747Fs
of Nippon Air Cargo (NCA) and Atlas
Air all regular visitors. Another com-
mon sight are the Antonov An-124s of
Volga-Dnepr and Antonov Airlines.
