Scramble 459
town for the opening of a new sports facility sponsored by
FIFA. He was to depart on KLM the same evening but due to
a 24 hour delay, the VistaJet Global was flown in. This Global
brought him direct to Geneva the same night. The Caravan on
the 12th was a bad weather diversion from local airfield Zorg
en Hoop to which it departed after 45 minutes ground time.
The Airbus A330 on the same day was the first in a row of
thirsty French widebodies, still due to the disputes in French
Guyana. The Robinson on the 17th came to clear customs
before departure to Zorg en Hoop and will probably be an
addition to the Surinam register soon. On the 18th the Bra-
zilean Grupo de Transporte Especial visited the airport.

A fuel stopping Cuban ATR from Recife to Caracas on the first
day of the month put our hopes up high. The next fuel stopper
on the 6th was a Canadian Bell 429 on its way to Argentina.
The helicopter is destined for Gobierno de la Provincia de
Tucamán. The rest of the month could be used to top up your
Venezuelan Learjet sightings. YV2716 on the 25th was read
as YV2717 but we assume this was a mispole for YV2716. In
general however this month, the local spotters could take
some rest earlier after the busy months with the extra move-
ments due to the unrest in French Guyana.
