New Cadet Programme

Low-cost carrier Jetstar Asia Airways has

teamed up with L3 Commercial Training

Solutions (L3 CTS) for a new Cadet Pilot

Training Programme. The scheme has

been launched to help the Singapore-

based airline meet its resourcing demands

as it expands its regional network.

Chan Choy Kee, Jetstar Asia’s Head

of Flying Operations, said: “With the

formalisation of the agreement with L3

CTS, we will be continually developing

and training highly skilled pilots to

augment our in-house talent pool.”

The first course is scheduled to start by

the middle of the year with successful

applicants undergoing six-month’s tuition

with Revion Ground School in Singapore.

Flight training will then follow at L3

CTS’s facility in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Students who successfully complete the

course will proceed on to A320 type

rating with Jetstar Asia.

Robin Glover-Faure, President of L3 CTS,

remarked: “We are delighted to have been

selected to deliver Jetstar Asia’s Cadet

Training Programme. This collaboration

international training provider and our

ongoing commitment to supporting the

global demand for highly skilled, qualified

PC-24

Training

Under Way

Training for the new Pilatus PC-24 jet has

started at FlightSafety’s Learning Center

in Dallas, Texas.

David Davenport, Executive Vice

President, Commercial, at FlightSafety,

said: “FlightSafety and Pilatus worked

closely together to ensure owners and

operators of the PC-24 receive the

highest quality training and outstanding

service they deserve and expect.”

The simulator was recently qualified and

approved for training by the European

Aviation Safety Agency, following United

States Federal Aviation Administration

approval last December.

Davenport added: “Receiving EASA

and FAA qualification demonstrates

our ability to design and manufacture

simulators that replicate the flying

characteristics of the aircraft they

represent and meet or exceed the

stringent standards of aviation

regulatory agencies around the world.”

VITAL 1100 visual system, electric motion

and control loading, and a new instructor

European Academy

Launched

L3 Commercial Training Solutions (L3

CTS) has inaugurated its new European

Airline Academy at Ponte de Sor Airport,

Portugal. The new facility, established

following L3’s acquisition of the G Air

Training Centre last October, has the

capacity for up to 500 cadets a year.

“The launch of the L3 European Airline

Academy in Portugal expands L3 CTS’s

international footprint and increases our

capacity to support the growing global

demand for highly skilled, qualified

commercial pilots,” said Robin Glover-

Faure, President of L3 CTS. “We are

excited to expand the delivery of our

international training solutions to further

support our airline customers and provide

more opportunities for aspiring pilots.”

The Portuguese facility will be fully

integrated with L3 CTS’s current Airline

Academy operations in the UK, US and
