hePeninsulaAeroClubhelditsbien-
nialairshowon11March.Themed
‘War & Peace’, the event showcased
both warbirds, military and general
aviation from various eras. For the first
time the show was outsourced and the or-
ganisers collaborated with Paul Bennet Air-
showstomanagetheflyingdisplay.En-
hancing their involvement, PB Airshows
also brought down their CAC Wirraway,
Grumman Avenger and SkyAces aerobatics
team.Amajordrawcardthisyearwasthe
first pairing of Tyabb’s two resident CAC
Mustangs,astheyhadnotdisplayedtogeth-
er before. The Temora Aviation Museum, a
notablesupporter,displayeditsLockheed
Hudson,SpitfireMk.VIIIandCACBoomer-
ang. Regular TAM pilot and another long-
time Tyabb supporter Doug Hamilton also


flew an impressive display in his P-40N
Warhawk. Other highlights included a three
ship formation of local Tiger Moths, Scott
TabernerinhisRyanPT-22,BoeingStear-
man, three Great War Sopwith replicas,
(twoTransaviaPupsandaSnipe),twoT-
28D Trojans, the ‘Southern Knights’
Harvard/T-6team,apairofVietnamveter-
an Birddogs, a four ship Yak and Nanchang
display, and the RAAF Museum-led Herit-
age Trainers’ formation of CT4s, Winjeels
andaHarvard.TheRAAFwasalsopresent
withasingleRoulettePC-9/Atrainerand
the RAN provided a new ‘Romeo’ Seahawk
for a handling display.
Tyabbhaslongbeenapremiereventon
the Australian airshow calendar and, with its
strong resident warbird and antique aircraft
