Hello to all our readers!

I am writing this text whilst preparing to leave for the USA to participate in Red Flag and
Florida Jets at the beautiful Paradise Field in Lakeland, Florida.
It will be a fantastic adventure and obviously you'll read all about it in the next issue!
Talking about jet only events, we're delighted to introduce one of the biggest in the world,
"Jets over Kentucky", to our new readers: Barry Vaught reports with a superb selection of
pictures about last year’s JOK, as a taster for the 2018 event, which will take place in July.

In this issue you'll find, as usual, many great articles, and I'm happy to say that we're
graduallybecoming more and more technical! One of the pleasures of writing is to share
our knowledge of the hobby with all our friends, and we hope that many of you will
appreciate our efforts to provide the most informative and valuable information to our
readers. Remember: the more you know, the more fun you will have! That's why I'm
always so keen in setting up my planes to the very best of my ability and using the best
available technology, because the better they fly and behave, the more fun I have!

For this reason, I'm sure many among our readers will find Dave Wilshere's Starting with
turbines article useful, as well as Colin Straus’s review of the Digitech precision control
surface throw meter.

David Gladwin's fans will enjoy reading his latest Technically Speaking column, and I
hope you'll find the first part of my review of the Fei Bao/Cmodels L-39 Albatros
interesting: I have written about some modifications and personal solutions, which can
also be applied to other similar models.
Staying with the “technical theme”, I really do invite you to carefully read the presentation
about the Ultimate Jets F-8E Crusader: the article, written by Olivier Nicholas, the owner
of U.J., contains the full story of the birth of this model and, as you'll read, the techniques
used in this project are something that up to now have been more commonly used in full
size aviation than in aeromodelling.

Something that I found particularly interesting is the comparison between two different
Hysol glues: the author is Mauri Macera, an Italian jet modeler who has recently been
selected as an F4J International Judge.

I’ll now leave you free to enjoy this issue, whilst giving you a small hint about our future
plans: some of the most famous champions and world renowned builders are teaming up
with us to bring you more and more articles and news about our beloved "r/c jet world",
so be sure to not miss any Jet International issues! As promised our team is growing fast,
and you'll soon see what happens when we work with the best of the best!

Happy flying!

Marco
