Radio Control Jet International - April-May 2018

(Tuis.) #1
Rod Snyder’s Hawk, 2.48 metres (97")
wingspan, KingTech 210 turbine.

The location is Springfield- Lebanon Airport,
Kentucky USA where full size and scale air-
craft operate harmoniously. This area has
some world-famous liquor breweries which
offer tours with a free sample at the end. The
airport, town, accommodations, residents are
very friendly and hospitable. To see the dou-
ble flight line full of jets preparing to taxi to the
runway is a thrill. The value of all the jets
could be in the 800,000 Euro range. Once
ready and turbines started, the jets taxi to the
runway where “Airboss” Marvin Mauricio
Alvares professionally and safely takes con-
trol over the take-offs and landings of each
scale and full-size jet.
One of the major assets and sponsor of Jets
Over Kentucky was lost unexpectedly last
year and we will surely miss him and every-
thing he did for the radio control scale jet
aeroplane community. Our heartfelt condo-
lences go out to the family and friends of
Randy Clark. There was nothing he would
refuse to do to help anyone in need, or for
Jets Over Kentucky. He also sponsored the

Boli Muentes’s Ultra Bandit, 2.5 metres (98") long, 2.16 metres (85") wingspan, JetCat P-200SX turbine.

Ritchie Holt’s Mirage F-1, 2.97 metres (118") long, Special Recognition Award.

Clark Jacobsen’s A 10 Warthog, 3.05 metres (120") wingspan, two Jet Cat 140 RXi's.

Marvin Cooper’s F-4 Phantom, 2.8 metres (110") long, 1.9 metres (75") wingspan, KingTech K-210 turbine.

Lance Campbell’s SR-71 Blackbird, 3.96 metres (156") long, 2-JetCat 120 SE turbines.
