SLICK RICK WE TAKE A LOOK AT SOME OF OUR FAVOURITE PL ATE CARRIERS AVAIL ABLE
The development of body armour pretty much paralleled
the development of weapons, the better the weapon the
better the protection, however today's body armour does
have its limitations as manufactures strive to offer the
best battle field protection without sacrificing mobility.
However the modern battle field didn't really see the
implementation of personal body armour until after
the Vietnam War where it was realised fromreturning
casualties that the biggest threat to soldiers was from
fragments, not bullets.
Today's body armour can be split into two very
different categories non-plated personal armour
(soft armour) designed to protect against slashing,
bludgeoning and penetrating attacks from small calibre
fire arms and small fragments from explosives or hard
plate armour to protect against larger ballistic threats
on the battle field. On the skirmish field body armour
serves no purpose at all, but players the World over
adopt plate carriers for three main reasons, looking
good, carrying equipment and looking good.
