it started to become clear that
the Green team had become a little
rattled by the way the Tan team had
approached this year’s game and the
mortar was placed right on top of
the Green team releasing the Tans
from the confines of the buildings
and handing back control of the
scrap yard.
With little other option but to
try and flank the rock solid lines
of Tans the Greens had to resort
to good old fashioned plastic
slinging in close quarter battles.
With the focus of the teams now in
this location it was only a matter
of time before tempers started to
fray and the marshals were tasked
with policing this trying to keep the
game flowing. After multiple calls
of overkill from both teams and
although to the dismay of a lot of
players it was decided that full auto
fire was too dangerous as it seemed
that both excitement and adrenaline
was clouding the judgment of most
players and it was announced that
going forward it was to be single fire
in and around buildings. This slowed
play and forced both teams to think
about attacks and movement in
order to try and gain ground with
any advantage they could. A terrific
effort by the Greens along with a
well placed mortar strike forced the
Tans back towards their CP.
The teams fought furiously for
the remainder of the day leading to
the call of endex but managed to
complete the remaining missions
their respective commanders had
for them. As usual at the end of play
just like any other game you start
to get the few disgruntled players
on both teams accusing each other
of non hit-taking and questions
regarding rule changing. These
comments were taken on board and
discussed by the management team
and head marshal and everything

was put to bed ready for day two or
so we thought.

DAY T WO
Heading into the second day and
the customary changing of CP’s you
would expect that from the amount
of aggression and fighting spirit
from both teams that the morning
missions would be a steady start and
not rushed but oh how wrong were
we. The Tans once again were like
whippets out of the traps chasing
down the hare that was their first
mission completely catching the
Greens by surprise and in no time
the Tans had swamped the Greens.
This only seemed to infuriate the
Green force and before we knew
it you could see the Green team
starting to fracture and lose focus
on the missions, it was like “forget
the missions we just want to shoot
Tans” which was gladly met by the
Tans and there it was, both teams
going toe to toe over the highly
important scrap yard.
What followed can only be
described as a stroke of genius by
the Tan commander; the Tans had
kept an ace up their sleeves and a
third and final mortar strike was let
loose. It was this that turned out to
be the final insult to the Green team
and seemed to destroy a lot of their
morale for good. After placing the
mortar into the compacted buildings
close to the mouth of scrap yard
the Tans pushed harder than we
had seen all weekend to completely
dominate the Greens, leaving it
near impossible for them to break
the deadlock and try fighting their
way out.
After the lunch break quite a
few Green team players had work
commitments or had travelled from
abroad to take part in the weekend
and had to leave leaving the Green
team reduced to no more than a
