aerospace industry are set to launch a
global study, which will explore new
ways to boost the recruitment and
advancement of women in aviation
leadership roles.
Set to release in the second quarter
of 2019, the joint study will examine the
causes of any barriers of advancement,
as well as highlight practices and poli-

cies that have found success in promot-
ing gender diversity in leadership.
It is hoped that the study will assist in
addressing the substantial gap of female
leadership in aviation. Such is the case
with the American aerospace workforce,
where less than one quarter are women
and an even smaller percentage hold
leadership roles.
As part of the study, a global survey
and interviews with women, HR leaders,
organisation leaders, and education lead-

Etihad Cargo, the cargo and logistics
arm of Etihad Airways, has renewed its
partnership with Trinity Logistics USA.
As per the ongoing agreement, the air-
line will continue to operate three week-
ly Boeing 777 Freighter services to Rick-
enbacker International Airport (LCK)
in Columbus, Ohio.
The extended partnership enables Trin-
ity to continue to deliver high fashion in-
dustry goods, moving key apparel from Co-
lombo in Sri Lanka and Hanoi in Vietnam.
Additionally, the renewal of the part-
nership has also introduced a new onward
Etihad Cargo freighter connection between
Rickenbacker Airport and East Midlands
Airport (EMA), in the United Kingdom.

Etihad Airways and Emirates Airline
have moved swiftly to deny that there
are any talks about a possible takeo-
ver of the Abu Dhabi carrier by its
Dubai-based rival.
Bloomberg News, citing people fa-
miliar with the matter, reported that
Emirates is looking to take over Etihad
Airways, and create the world’s biggest
carrier by passenger traffi c.
The talks, which Bloomberg said are
at a preliminary stage, would see Emir-
ates acquire the main airline business
of Etihad, according to the people, who
asked not to be named because the mat-
ter is confi dential. The negotiations
could yet fall through, they said.
However, both airlines have denied
that there have been any talks about
a possible deal. An Etihad Airways
spokesperson told Arabian Business
that there is “no truth to this story.”
Similarly, a spokesperson for
Emirates said, “There is no truth to
this rumour.”
