‘The airspace here has a lot of ranges
and altitudes available’, said Barasch.
‘There is little civilian traffic and for our
exercises this situation is fantastic’. The
112th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron
moved out to Spangdahlem, Germany,
in early March to join a separate
two-week exercise as the culmination of
its time in Europe. Underlining the
reasons for coming to Europe, Barasch
concluded, ‘When the tensions rise
even higher we are able to switch to
the operational mode without any
hesitation.’
