would take over six to nine months. Due
to increasing demand, we would ramp up
the bed strength of a few centres located in
Delhi, Bengaluru and Pune and add 25 more
beds in the next few months.

What happens to the current manpower
at DaVita? What steps are you undertak-
ing for smooth transition of the acquired
entity?
Around 350 clinical staff and 25 corpo-
rate staff of DaVita would be a part of our
team now. Their COO, Aditya Grewal Singh,
would be with us for several months to
ensure a smooth transition. All their clini-
cal team mates and operations team mates
would continue to work in our system now
which will ensure smooth continuity of
dialysis services.
Yes, we know acquisitions come with a
few hiccups and challenges. But we have
been quick to address various issues to
ensure a smooth transition. We already
have conducted town halls at all the dialy-
sis centres which were presided by one of
our directors to address questions of the
team mates and to take them through the
logic of this transaction and how they will

Firstly, DaVita, ~Rs 50 crore business, had
scale with its network of 22 centres which
served more than 1,700 dialysis patients
nationwide. So with this acquisition, we will
have a much stronger presence in certain
key cities such as Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru
and Chennai and also have presence in four
new cities.
Secondly, it is a reputed brand with ro-
bust clinical protocols which made us be-
lieve that integration of the asset into the
high quality NephroPlus network would
not be an uphill task. Thirdly, there was a
good amount of geography overlap which
ensures that we don’t have to spend way
too much on new corporate over heads to
manage this asset. Finally, we could seal
the deal at the right price and this asset
accelerates our growth momentum in the
Indian market.

What are the immediate changes that you
plan to introduce in DaVita?
DaVita Care India, a part of DaVita Inc., is a
Fortune 500 company, and I believe we can
learn a few best practices from them. They
have a robust clinical management protocol
and there are no immediate changes that
we are making in the centres of DaVita Care
India. Our partnership with nephrologists,
