13 KNIVES
Brandyn ‘Bud’ Heyser is the owner, founder and resident sharp wit of 13 Knives, a blade-making
forge in Collingwood, Melbourne. Heyser’s dad was a knife maker, and his dad was one too, so it
is safe to say that the guy knows his way around a blade. Since relocating from his “birth hole” of
Kentucky, he’s been using upcycled steel fi les and reclaimed furniture o cuts to fashion his wares,
turning out a stylish range of cheese knives (pictured), kitchen knives, steak shanks, pocketknives
and oyster shuckers that look like weaponry out of The Revenant. Highly recommended for those
looking to chop up some vegies or do battle with a grizzly bear. 13knives.com.au TL
