Pacific Monograph

T

wo new decal sheets from
this Hawaiian based
company following
on from theie debut sheet
covering the American version
of the V-1 Flying Bomb. The
new sheet supplies a selection
of Kuomintang roundels. This
insignia has been used since
1924 by Chinese Nationalists Air
Force or as it is more normally
known in the west, Taiwan.
The decal supplies identical
markings with the white sun
of a blue roundel in 10 sizes.
The instructions give you a
guide showing which roundel
you need in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32
scale. The largest size roundel
in 1/72 scale equals a 72-inch
roundel on a real aircraft and
if used on a 1/32 scale model it
will become a 32-inch roundel.
The reason why you have two
sheets is that one is described
as Fresh and shows the marking
in a royal blue colour as applied
in the factory when new.

While the second sheets is
called Not so Fresh and shows
the markings in a light blue
paint that recrates a faded finish
as seen on period photographs
of aircraft which spend most
of their lives stored outside.

NO SCALE
PMAVI-008 FRESH KUOMINTANG
CHINESE ROUNDELS
This sheet supplies 90 roundels in 10
sizes.

PMAVI-009 NOT SO FRESH
KUOMINTANG CHINESE ROUNDELS
This sheet supplies 90 roundels in 10
sizes.

CONCLUSION
This is a great idea and I hope
that Pacific Monograph produce
a few more sheets like this.

Two Bobs

T

his month we have a
new 1/72 scale sheet
from Two Bobs for the
EA-18G Growler in service with
the Starwarrors, whose use of
the call sign” Vader” and some
Darth Vader-styled helmet
artwork should make this
popular with those who like Star
Wars as well as ECM aircraft.
As always the instruction
sheet uses a paint coding system
for five major manufacturers
as well as the Federal Standard
FS number system.

CONCLUSION
Though low-viz grey might not float
your boat the inclusion of the black-
tailed squadron CAG bird, which also
carries a black fuel tank with “Vadar
One” along its length, will add some

interest. The full range can be seen
at http://www.twobobs.net and will also be

available from Hannants in the UK.

Foxbot Decals

T

his month Foxbot have
supplied us with one of
their rare products that
does NOT cover modern jet
aircraft. The first of two sheets
that will supply markings for the
A-20 Boston/Havoc in 1/48 scale.
The original AMT kit has been
re-boxed a number of times and is
a very nice kit to build. This sheet
supplies five options, all of which
have some pinup nose art, as
well as some impressive mission
markings. Most are in olive drab
and grey, but the final option is
an overall black camouflage with
a black and white striped rudder.

CONCLUSION
The quality of the printing of
the nose artwork is to a very
high standard and I am just
hoping I cam pick up an A-20
from the Kit Swop at Telford.
Our thanks to Foxbot for
supplying the review sample,
which is available from Hannants
along with the associated
stencil set, which enables you
to really detail your model.
