Yahu Models

P

re painted instrument
panels are nothing new
but most Yahu sets are
also pre assembled and are
just drop in replacements for
the kits instrument panel.
On the front of each pack
is a printed illustration of the
panel and onopening the packet
you will find an instrument
panels which is far better than
anything mere mortals can
paint. In the case of the one
designed for Polikaprov I-16
this is just as well as its open
cockpit means that a new
panel will be clearly seen.

CONCLUSION
I have always been impressed
with these sets but the quality
of printing just seem to be
getting better and better.

the full range can be seen on their
website at http://www.yahumodels.
siemianowice.com and in the UK
the range is stocked by Hannants.

Bilmodel Makers

P

ainting Saab Viggen
fighters in splinter
camouflage is a real
challenge for the modeller, but
Bilmodel Makers the paint
manufacturer from Poland
has prepared a laser cut mask
set in both 1/72 and 1/48 scale
to help, so dig out your Special
Hobby kits and get painting.

CONCLUSION
A really useful set though at present
we do not know of any UK stockists
so you are reliant on the internet to
purchase these from Eastern Europe.

CMK/CMK Quick and Easy Line

T

his month we take a look
at some of the samples we
received from our friends
at Special Hobby/CMK, during the
IPMS Nationals model Show, in
Phoenix Arizona. These include
wheel sets for the Revell 1/32 scale
P-51D Mustang and a rather fun
1/48 scale Asian Elephant! The
latter would be ideal if you wish
to model a diorama of aircraft
in Burma, during the Second
World War as they were used
to tow aircraft as well as any
construction tasks around the
airfield. A quick Google search
found a nice image of an elephant
towing a Supermarine Walrus,
so if you are wondering what
to do with your Airfix kit, then
CMK may have the answer.

I love getting new sets from CMK
and these are no exception. The
elephant will certainly add interest to
a diorama. The example we received

for review has a few air bubbles
but nothing too difficult to sort and
it is definitely a male elephant!
CMK have released a number of
sets for the 1/32 scale Revell P-51D
Mustang, this month we have looked
at the sets for the undercarriage. The
legs have been cast in super hard
black resin, which will add strength
where it is needed. The wheels are
cast without flats, which I prefer as
when I visit my local airfield, which
has a nice selection of warbirds,
all of the aircraft tyres appear
fully inflated. Next month we will
take a look at the sets CMK have
released for the interior of the 1/32
Revell Mustang, spoiler alert, they
will certainly add to your model.
My thanks to CMK/Special
Hobby for supplying these samples,
for details on these and other
sets visit http://www.cmkkits.com
