BAWDSEY RADAR
The Suffolk coastal site of the world’s first
operational radar station, where many vital
experiments with the new technology took
place, has recently re-opened after major
refurbishment. Its displays tell the story of radar
development and Bawdsey’s own history.

BENTWATERS COLD WAR
MUSEUM
Recalling Bentwaters as an RAF and USAF airfield
during the Cold War, the BCWM is located in the


base’s former hardened command post. The
A-10, on loan from the USAF, is one of only two on
museum display in Britain.
