week. The company policy is only one wedding
per day, per vehicle – they could try to squeeze
in more, but both Roger and Jo feel that they
want to give everyone’s special day the full
attention it deserves, without ever needing to
feel hurried. “It’s also nice to take the bride and
groom on an extended drive on the way to the
reception, as it’s the only time they’ll have as
just the two of them on the big day,” Roger says.
One of the main reservations people have
when it comes to doing weddings with their
Bus is the idea that something might go wrong
and you could let someone down. Roger agrees
it’s definitely is a worry, but keeping on top of
vehicle maintenance eliminates 99% of the
worry or problems. In the three years of running
the business, there’s only ever been one issue,
when the weld broke on an accelerator pedal
on the way to the church. Fortunately, Roger is
pretty handy and made a temporary repair from
something in his toolkit, so was back on the
road in a matter of minutes.
We’ll leave the last words to Roger: “We really
enjoy the business and it shocked us how
quickly it grew from a retirement project into
a busy and successful three vehicle business.
We’ve still got a lot of expansion ideas, but for
now, we’re taking a breath and enjoying it all.”
