There’s loads of bars to check out along the stretch.

ONE THING THAT many expats miss from home
(well, British ones, anyway), is a good, old-
fashioned pub crawl.
There’s aren’t many places where it’s
possible, but Hamdan bin Mohammed Street
is deÀnitely one of them.
So here’s our guide to the handful of
venues to check out along the stretch, starting
at Courtyard by Marriott World Trade Centre
and ending at the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi.

This rooftop bar had something of a makeover
late 2018, turning it from an all-white Ibizan
throwback to a more modern space. There’s
a daily happy hour from 5pm-8pm offering
half price house beverages, and look out for
regular DJ nights and comedy events. The food
menu has one of the few Caribbean offerings
in the city, too.
O Open daily 11am-2am. Courtyard by Marriott World
Trade Center (02 698 2222).
Mood Indigo
It might sound like an Indian restaurant, but
this actually is a rather dimly-lit pub, with a
good choice of draught hops, friendly servers
and a nice, chilled atmosphere. There’s a
happy hour running until 9pm every day and
on Monday it’s ladies’ night. We’re sure there
was a pianist playing once when we were in
and there’s a singer on every night, too.
O Open daily noon-2am. Novel Hotel City Center
(02 633 3555).
Heroes
Abu Dhabi would be a poorer place without
this place in it. Heroes is as much of an
institution as you can get. The underground
pub is a wonderfully welcoming place, with
great staff, keen prices, regular live music
from the brilliant International Playboys and
Head
over to
Hamdan
Street
