The problems with big fl ex are few and far between, I mean
it’s something we all strive for in a serious hard track rig;
however body roll is a real trade off. Watching Shauno come down
an ultra steep track into an equally steep and gnarly off camber
climb, it was evident to all of us that he either choose a far better
line of risk ripping his rooftop tent off... now that is body roll!

We use a number of different cameras, from ultra-high end
cinema style models down to the humble GoPro and something
we never show is just how much of a battering said GoPros take. On
this trip we drove over at least 6 and lost 2 in mud puddles. The
truth is, to get the shot you sometimes gotta pay to play.

Ok so it’s probably no secret that Shaun and I have a fair bit of
fun when it comes to the cooking scenes; however on this
occasion apparently we were, well having a heck of a lot of fun.
According to our producer there was so much footage that couldn’t
be used that the cutting room fl oor looked like a feature length
movie. Oh and the scene took 3 times longer than it should have...
I pity our fi lm crew sometimes.

Muir Lookout; it’s a quick 20 minute walk from the carpark
with spectacular views....or so I’m told. See the key here is to
not follow the fi lm crew as they will lead you on a 2 hour hike at
the end of a shoot when the only thing on your mind is a pub...

I’m not so sure this cat should really be let out of the bag but
what the heck; see it turns out we were all a day or so late in
fi nishing this trip due to two blokes, let’s call them Graham and
Shaun, having one heck of a fun night out in Newcastle the evening
before. Sore heads prevented fi lming however lucky for these two
fi ctional characters, the camera car decided to blow a clutch AND do
a gearbox which thankfully, took the heat off our seedy heroes.
