ASSEMBLY
Preparing the fabric

5

Move the project to a large clean workspace. Lay it face
down on a white fl uffy towel. Create guides on the
wrong side of the fabric using masking tape: apply lengths
of masking tape four threads above the top row of stitches;
four threads below the bottom row of stitches; and 1in to
the right of the right edge of the stitched design. It’s vital
that the tape is parallel to the threads in the fabric.

7

Align the edges of the exposed sticky surface of the
styrene with the inner edges of the masking-tape
guide and press it down onto the wrong side of the fabric.

6

Lay the sheet of adhesive styrene on top of the fabric
inside the guidelines created by the masking tape.
Start to remove the backing paper from the right edge
of the styrene.

8

Slowly pull the backing paper off the remainder of the
styrene, pressing the styrene onto the fabric. It’s important
to keep the styrene aligned with the inner edges of the masking
tape. Smooth over the entire length of styrene with your hands
to ensure that it has adhered fi rmly and evenly to the fabric.
