the reserve.
“It was a huge crowd — we figure it was the
biggest we’ve had,” said Glenn Keen, who, with
Jim Hanham, has taken over the running of the
event. “We had 1300 window stickers to give out to
cars, and we ran out, so we’re estimating around
1400 all up.”
Fellow Stragglers member Aaron Tucker expressed
similar sentiments about how the show has
continued to grow, saying, “Generally, we’re up
around 100 cars each year, and we were maxing
out the Te Koutu Domain at around 600–700 cars
a few years back.”
The large turnout, even for the standards of this
show, could most likely partly be attributed to the
positive weather forecast and included attendees
from all over the North Island and even a couple
