BMW FIXES M4 CS PRICE

BMW Oz has announced some

changes to its M4 range, including

a massive price cut for the M

CS. Originally $211,610, the CS

flagship’s price is slashed by

$21,710, bringing it down to a

far more reasonable $189,900.

In addition, BMW has dropped

the regular M4, leaving the Pure,

Competition, and CS as the

only M4 variants. It’s now only

a $33,190 jump from the M

Competition (at $156,710) to the

top-spec CS, with the M4 Pure

still the most affordable variant

at $139,900. Nothing else has

changed, with boggo variants still

packing 331kW compared to the

CS’s 338kW.

TRACKHAWK $135K IN OZ

Aussie pricing and spec for the

522kW Hellcat-powered Jeep

Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has

been revealed. At $134,900, it’s

almost $45,000 more expensive

than the SRT8. The options and

specs listing reveal it comes with

20-inch alloys, 295/45 Pirelli P

Zero tyres and Brembo brakes

which can pull the 2.4-tonne

monster up in just 37m. All 62

Trackhawks initially allocated to

Australia – a reference to the 6.2-

litre engine displacement – are

already spoken for. However, Jeep

says it’s still taking orders for the

3.6sec 0-100km/h beast from

customers, meaning more should

be on the way.

Sydney circuit on track

THE FINAL layers of asphalt have

been laid at Luddenham Raceway

complex, promising Sydney an all-

new racetrack by 2018’s end.

The 1.4km racing circuit in South

Western Sydney is honing in on its

planned January completion date,

to add a car-friendly zone to the

site’s existing karting track.

The official opening date is yet

to be finalised until it is tested

and deemed fit for use, but is

expected to be sometime next year.

Hopefully sooner than later.

MERCEDES-BENZ has revealed its

third generation of CLS at the Los

Angeles Motor Show in December.

The four-door coupe comes with

a ‘completely new’ range of inline

six engines, luxury features, and an

updated design language.

Under the elongated hood will sit an

inline six with either 210kW/600Nm

or 250kW/700Nm from a 3.0-litre

turbo diesel, or a petrol producing

270kW/500Nm. With added power

and torque from an integrated electric

motor called ‘EQ Boost’, the more

powerful petrol engine peaks at

286kW and 750Nm while EQ Boost

is active. This equates to a brisk

0-100km/h sprint of 4.8 seconds.

of hybrid models. It’ll use a turbo

inline-six and electric motor to make

320kW, without a word yet on torque.

Its reveal is pegged for the Detroit
