08: DESIGN LONGVIEW HOUSE
LOCATION WILDES MEADOW,
NEW SOUTH WALES
Contemporary design meets country life in this
picture-perfect farmhouse in rural New South
Wales. The property is a working cattle farm
and is designed as a weekender for extended
family, and also for the owners to stay when
they need to attend to cattle business. From
the living room the views are sublime — a
tree-lined vista that stretches as far as the eye
can see. In this space, slimline dual silver lamps
feature along with an elegant shimmering glass
table lamp and a tri-legged lamp.

09: DESIGN ROZELLE HOUSE
LOCATION ROZELLE, NEW SOUTH WALES
This home has plenty of natural fi ltered light
and completely opens up to the outdoors. It’s
modernist with just a hint of urban industrial
through the use of lots of concrete in the
build. To light the way, the homeowners opted
for downlighting in much of the downstairs
communal living space. It’s adequate to
illuminate areas for tasks like cooking and
creates enough ambient lighting to set the
relaxed mood of the home. It’s also subtle, so
it doesn’t detract from the leafy views beyond.

10: DESIGN CREER HOUSE
LOCATION RANDWICK, SYDNEY
This inner-city abode is all about
contemporary style, earthy natural materials
and good design principles, allowing the
architecture of the space to speak for
itself. “The home was to have a modern
and contemporary feel with lots of light,”
says architect Tanya Hancock. “Furnishings
are modern and minimal, emphasising the
clean lines of the architecture and creating
a spacious area for the family.” A suspended
S2 light over the marbled kitchen bench
is a feature, complementing the modern
ambience of the space.
