01: DESIGN LAVA TIVOLI TERRACE
LOCATION PADDINGTON, SYDNEY
With a distinct modernist fl air, this vibrant
terrace features living spaces with sleek lines
and cleverly integrated storage that doesn’t
crowd the small rooms. When renovating the
heritage building, architect and homeowner
Chris Bosse opened up a small ground-
fl oor bedroom to create a lounge room that
extends out into the courtyard. Additional
living space was then created upstairs,
where a small room was turned into an area
for relaxing and watching TV. This sleek
arrangement is off set with pops of bright
colour that enhance the modernist aesthetic
and add an element of fun to the home.

02: DESIGN SOUTH YORKSHIRE HOUSE
LOCATION SOUTH YORKSHIRE, UK
Who doesn’t want a cinema room in their
own home? But putting a cinema room in an
old cinema house is ironic. Turning a 1920s
movie theatre into their family home was a
bold move for Gwyn ap Harri and his wife
Kate. A large family home with outdoor space
for their kids and plenty of living space where
they could gather as a family was a priority
for this pair, and what better way to pay
homage to the origins of the building than
to include a family cinema room on the
second fl oor — complete with inset ceiling,
LED lighting and surround sound for the
true cinema experience.
