In an otherwise all-white bathroom, bright
splashes of colour are added through vivid
artworks that enliven the space and break up
the stark white walls. The urban environment
of this family home in Melbourne’s inner-
city suburb of Richmond is refl ected in
the contemporary wall decor of this sleek,
modern bathroom — a deliberate choice for
the homeowners, who wanted their home to
refl ect the cultural eccentricity and fl air of the
region. White walls, blonde-wood timber fl oors,
combined with a modern freestanding pedestalsink and mirrored fl oor-to-ceiling splashback
are the perfect canvas for the off set artwork
that colours the space and adds just the right
amount of fun.

The minimalist lines of this urban abode are
prevalent in the negative details, shadowline
cornices and built-in joinery. Nowhere is this
more evident than in the bathrooms. Matt
charcoal tiles on all the surfaces form the
backdrop to the dramatic natural light fl ooding
in from the skylight above the shower and adds
a feeling of soaring height to the space. The
smooth lines and inset fi xtures support the
minimalist aesthetic, while clever cabinetry off ers
storage that removes clutter from benchtops.

home in the luxury suburb of Coatesville is
marked by a distinctly European-inspired style.
With marble coverage from fl oor to ceiling, this
decadent statement bathroom would be at

cream and chocolate are adorned with gold and
