blackpanthermasksdecoratedwithsequins.
Theeventkickedoffwitha receptionat the
couple’sLondonhome,ClarenceHouse,
beforecontinuingnextdooratLancaster
Housewithdrinksonthelawn,whichhad
been decorated with parasols, Indian
sunshadesandhugeelephantstatues.The
galaevening,whichincludeda sit-down
dinner,dancingandliveauction,raisedmore
than£1mfortheElephantFamilycharity,
whichwasthebrainchildofCamilla’sbeloved
brotherMarkShand,whodiedin2014.
PrinceCharlesisjointpresidentofthe
organisationalongwithCamilla.Hepaid
tributetothetravelwriterandconservationist
asheaskedgueststoraisea glassto“my
darlingwife’slatebrotheranda much-loved
brother-in-lawtome”.
The heir to the throne said he felt
“underdressed”ashepraisedthe“enormous
effort”madebyfellowguests,whosespectacular
masksincludedcolourfultigers,birds,bees,
flowersandleopards.Theexquisitecreations
hadbeenmadeby 26 world-famousdesign
labelsincludingPrada,AliceTemperley,
Charlotte Olympia and Vivienne
