would call with answers the next day.

Hourspassedthefollowingday.As
thesunwassetting,theBeishessat
sidebyside,Hollie’sphoneclenched
inherhand.Finallyit rang.
“I’msorryI couldn’tcallearlier,”
thedoctorsaid.“But...”Shepaused.
Connerwasmissingtheenzyme
TPP1.“HehasBattendisease,”the
doctorsaid.
“OK,”Holliesaidweakly.Jeffheld
hishandsupina gesturethatseemed
toplead,tellmewhat’shappening.
Holliecouldbarelyhearwhatthe
