PEUGEOT 5008
When you have a family of five or more,
some sartorial sacrifices are expected.
However, no-one tells you that this extends
from owning a white couch to dreams of a sexy
and stylish car. Luckily, Peugeot’s biggest SUV
fills that void and falls into the sweet spot,
possessing a certain je ne sais quoi and still
seating seven. Here, form meets family-friendly
function. The six passenger seats fold flat and
the storage situation includes eight cup holders,
two tray tables and some nifty hidey holes
(plus an electric tailgate for shorties as standard).
Opt for the top spec GT model and you’ll
be smug AF with heated seats and a massage
function for the driver. And if the squabble for
shotgun isn’t enough, the 5008 can be optioned
with the e-Kick, an electric scooter with a top speed
of 25kmph that folds neatly in the boot. Très bien.
The winning edge: The cockpit rivals a Marc
Newson-designed Qantas first class lounge,
with a chic coherence of contemporary art styling
in the lines, interior and exterior details. It has
top-end tech, entertainment and safety features
galore (including autonomous emergency
braking and pedestrian detection) and impressive
versatility when it comes to cargo: points rarely
seen all together in an SUV of this size. >

There’s something downright
sexy about driving a car
you absolutely love – one that
looks great, drives like a beast
and makes you feel like
Superwoman. This year, we
celebrate the wheels we’re
currently besotted with, from
super SUVs to green EVs, hot
hatches loaded with gadgets,
stylish (yes, really) family
wagons and the best ride every
budget can buy. Whether
you’re in the market or just
browsing, these are 10 of the
best cars straddling tech,
style and performance.
