tomorrow’s stars today
Age __ 15
Plays __ Schoolgirl Max in Stranger Things 2.
“She’s a tomboy and she skateboards a lot,”
says Sink. “She’s pretty closed-off and has
a stepbrother who’s bad news.”
backstory __ “I didn’t start acting professionally
until I was 10. I’m originally from Texas, but the
whole family moved to New Jersey when me and
my brother got into Broadway shows.”
The Big Break __ “Annie [on Broadway]
because at the time that was my dream. Then
I moved into the world of fi lm, and now that’s
what I want to do.”
best direction __ “The director for one of the
Broadway shows I did told me, ‘The best acting
advice I could give you is to be a real kid. How are
you ever going to play a student if you don’t
know what it’s like to go to an actual school?’
That is really important.”
new skills __ “Before we started fi lming
[Stranger Things] I had never set foot on
a skateboard, so I started lessons before
I even went to set. I wouldn’t say I’m the best
skateboarder, but I can do a few tricks.”
hobbies __ “I’ve picked up photography.
I have a Canon Rebel. My little sister is
my model.”
acting heroes __ “I would say Emma Stone.
Every movie she’s been in I’ve loved. Amy Adams
defi nitely, and Jennifer Lawrence too.”
next up __ “As of right now, I’m kind of waiting
for Stranger Things Season 2 to come out and
see where that takes me.”
