us to open a bar — which
we eventually did, with a
friend, Roman Anokhov.
These days, there is a
burgeoning Prague craft
beer scene, with about
10 specialty bars, such as
U Kunštátů, where you can join a daily 90-minute beer tasting
session. What we need more of though, are small breweries

Prague. For something newer, head to Pivovar Lod, the ‘Ship
Brewery’, on the Vltava River, or Vinohradský Pivovar, a new
microbrewery on the site of one that was destroyed by fire.
Aside from beer, the other reason we chose to move to
Prague was that everyone we knew said it was a beautiful
city. I’d not seen it until we stepped of the plane with all our
belongings, but I have loved Prague since that first glimpse.
One of my favourite things to do is to walk the streets
