Dec 1 st at each end of next 1 (1,
1, 3, 3) rows, then on 1 (0, 0, 0, 0)
following 4th rows, then on following
4 (7, 9, 9, 11) alt rows. 39 (41, 43,
45, 47) sts
Next Row: WS - P19 (20, 21, 22,
23), inc in next st, P19 (20, 21, 22,
23). 40 (42, 44, 46, 48) sts
Divide for Back Opening
Next Row: RS - K2tog, K18 (19, 20,
21, 22) and turn, leaving remaining
20 (21, 22, 23, 24) sts on a st
holder.
Work on this set of 19 (20, 21, 22,
23) sts only for first side of back
opening.
Next Row: K2, P to end.
Next Row: K2tog, K to end.
Last 2 rows set the sts – back opening
edge 2 sts in g st with all other sts
still in st st.
Keeping sts correct as now set,
continue as follows:-
Dec 1 st at raglan armhole edge of
2nd and following 7 alt rows. 10 (11,
12, 13, 14) sts
Work 1 row, finishing on a WS row.
Break yarn and leave remaining 10
(11, 12, 13, 14) sts on another st
holder (for Neckband).
Return to sts left on first st holder,
re-join yarn with right side facing, K
to last 2 sts, K2tog. 19 (20, 21, 22,
23) sts
Next Row: P to last 2 sts, K2.
Next Row: K to last 2 sts, K2tog.
Last 2 rows set the sts – back opening
edge 2 sts in g st with all other sts

Work as follows remembering to work
stripes as given for Back of sweater.
Using 3.25mm needles cast on 57
(63, 69, 75, 81) sts.
Noting that first row is a WS row, work
in garter st for 7 rows, finishing on a
WS row.
Change to 4.00mm needles.
Starting with a Knit row, now work in
st st throughout as follows:-
Continue straight until Front measures
11 (14, 17, 20, 24) cm, finishing on

Return to sts left on st holder, slip
centre 13 (13, 15, 15, 17) sts onto
another st holder (for Neckband),
re-join yarn with RS facing, K to last 2
sts, K2tog. 8 (10, 10, 12, 12) sts
Dec 1 st at neck edge of next 4
rows, then on following 0 (1, 1, 2,
2) alt rows and at same time dec 1
st at raglan armhole edge of 2nd and

Work 1 row, finishing on a WS row.
Next Row: RS - K2tog and fasten off.SLEEVES (BOTH ALIKE)
Using 3.25mm needles and A, cast on
30 (32, 34, 36, 38) sts.
Noting that first row is a WS row, work
in garter st for 1 row, finishing on a
WS row.
Break off A and join in M.
Work in garter st for a further 6 rows,finishing on a WS row.
Change to 4.00mm needles.
Starting with a Knit row and joining in
and breaking off colours as required,
now work in stocking st throughout as
follows:-
Using M, work 3 rows, inc 1 st at each
end of first (first, first, first, 3rd) of
these rows and following 1 (1, 1, 0,
0) alt row 34 (36, 38, 38, 40) sts
Using A, work 1 row.
Using M, work 3 rows, inc 1 st at each
end of first (first, first, first, 3rd) of
these rows and following 1 (1, 1, 0,
0) alt row. 38 (40, 42, 40, 42) sts.
Using B, work 3 rows, inc 1 (1, 1,
1, 0) st at each end of 2nd of these
rows. 40 (42, 44, 42, 42) sts.
Using M, work 2 rows, inc 1 (1, 0,
0, 1) st at each end of first of these
rows. 42 (44, 44, 42, 44) sts.
Using B, work 1 row, inc 1 (1, 1, 1,
0) st at each end of this row. 44 (46,
46, 44, 44) sts.
Using M, work 2 rows, inc 1 (1, 0,
0, 1) st at each end of 2nd of these
rows. 46 (48, 46, 44, 46) sts.
Using A, work 2 rows, inc 1 (0, 1,
1, 0) st at each end of 2nd of these
rows. 48 (48, 48, 46, 46) sts.
These 17 rows complete striped
border.
Starting with a Purl row, continue in
stocking st using M only as follows:-
Inc 1 st at each end of 2nd (2nd, 4th,
4th, 2nd) and 1 (0, 0, 0, 9) following
alt (alt, alt, alt, 4th) rows, then on 1
(4, 6, 9, 2) following 4th (4th, 4th,
4th, 6th) rows. 54 (58, 62, 66, 70)
sts.
Continue straight until sleeve measures
12 (15, 19, 23, 27) cm, finishing on
a WS row.Shape Raglan
Cast off 3 sts at beg of next 2 rows.
48 (52, 56, 60, 64) sts.
Dec 1 st at each end of next 9 (11,
11, 13, 13) rows, then on every
following alt row until 12 sts remain.
Work 1 row, finishing on a WS row.Left Sleeve Only
Dec 1 st at each end of next row, then
cast off 2 sts at beg of following row.
