row-end edges of back. Hot machine
wash completed bag at 60°, ensuring
there are other items in the washing
machine (such as a few old towels).
Once washed, ease bag into shape
and leave to dry naturally, folding flap
section over to cover part of front
section. Once dry, press if necessary.
Attach stud fastener to fasten flap to
front of bag.


FLOWER
Using 15.00mm needles and A, cast
on 6 sts.
Rows 1 to 3: knit.
Row 4: RS sl 1, K3, lift 2nd, 3rd and
4th sts on right needle over first st
and off right needle, K2. 3 sts.
Row 5: knit.
Row 6: cast on 3 sts, knit to end. 6
sts.


Rep rows 1 to 6, 4 times more, then
rows 1 to 5 again. 3 sts.
Cast off.

Keeping straight row-end edges
level, sew last 3 cast-off sts to
corresponding 3 cast-on sts. Run
gathering thread around straight row-
end edge and pull up tight. Fasten off
securely.

FLOWER CENTRE
Using 15.00mm needles and B, cast
on one st.
Row 1: RS knit into front, back, front,
back and front again of st on left
needle. 5 sts.
Row 2: purl.
Row 3: knit.
Row 4: purl.
Row 5: K2tog, K1, K2tog. 3 sts.

Row 6: P3tog and fasten off, leaving a
fairly long end.
Using this end of yarn, run a gathering
thread around outer edge of knitted
section and pull up fairly tight. Fasten
off securely. Sew flower centre to RS
of flower as in photograph.

MAKING UP
Hot machine wash completed flower at
60°, ensuring there are other items in
the washing machine (such as a few
old towels). Once washed and whilst
still damp, gently ease flower into
shape. Leave to dry naturally. Once dry
stitch onto front of bag.
