ACH YEAR the highlight of the Australian

Geographic calendar is the annual

awards, at which past and present winners

congregate in a celebration of conservation

efforts and the spirit of adventure.

You are invited to join this esteemed group

for the celebration, which this year will be held

in the grand Ivy Ballroom in Sydney. As well

as special presentations by awardees and our

guest speakers, Aussie wingsuit fliers Glenn

Singleman and Heather Swan, there will be

stories of amazing feats of adventure, past and

present, and opportunities to mingle with some

of today’s most inspiring Australians.

First presented in 1987, the AGS Awards are

Australia’s longest-running awards for adventure.

They later grew to include conservation

awards, and now celebrate two remarkable

communities that in fact often cross paths. The

Australian Geographic Society is a not-for-profit

organisation that supports scientific research,

conservation and the spirit of adventure.
