BATS IN BLUE
GREY-HEADED FLYING-FOX
Pteropus poliocephalus
Marc Lynch, New South Wales
Australia’s largest bat, the grey-headed flying-fox,
is listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of
Threatened Species. I wanted to capture the bats’
fluttering frenzy as the colony left its roost after
dusk to travel about 50km to feed.
