Finishing
With a slightly damp
cloth and a warm iron,
gently press the front,
back and pockets on the
wrong sides and allow
them to dry.
Join the side seams of
the front and back: we
recommend using mattress
stitch. Sew the pockets to
the front as pictured, 5 (6-7-
8)cm [2 (2^1 ⁄ 4 -2^3 ⁄ 4 -3^1 ⁄ 4 )in] from
the lower edge and
separated by 20 (22-24-26)
sts at the centre.
Sew one end of each strap
to the back, positioning
them at the rib sts
corresponding to the
buttonholes on the front.
Sew the fl ower buttons
to the other end of the
straps. Cross the straps
at the back and button
them at the front.

This project is worked
at a tension of 22 sts
and 30 rows to 10cm
(4in) over stocking st,
using 4.00mm needles.
To work a tension
square, using 4.00mm
needles, cast on 33 sts.
Work 44 rows in stocking
st. Cast off loosely.
Check your tension
carefully. If less sts to
10cm (4in), use smaller
needles; if more sts,
use larger needles.
