Trim the excess batting and
backing fabric^11 ⁄ 4 in outside
the raw edges of the quilt.

Cut the ends of the 2^1 ⁄ 4 in
medium-value pink and green
binding strips at a 45-degree angle.
Join the strips end to end to make
one length and press the seams open.
Fold the strip in half, long edges
matching and wrong sides together,
and press.

With raw edges together,
stitch the binding to the edge
of the quilt with a^1 ⁄ 4 in seam, mitring
the corners as you go and referring
to the Binding Diagrams on page 102.

before. Your completed cushion front
should measure 16^1 ⁄ 2 in square from
raw edge to raw edge.
