For a man with the punishing weight of superstardom on his
shoulders, Chris Hemsworth is broadly unfazed.MHhammered
it out with Thor. The result was surprisingly pleasantSUPERHEROES ARE INVINCIBLE,
impermeable, unblemished. So it’s not that big
ashocktolearnthatChrisHemsworth,HeWho
IsThor,appearstobemadeofsimilarstuff.On
top of possessing the physique necessary to
playtheNorsegodofthunder,theactoris
polite, humble and charming. He is, it seems,
asspotlessashisrecord:therearenorisque
stories about him.

“I encountered the temptations that can make

littlebitsweaty,butallgood.Thewrongsortof
heat for a photoshoot, but the right kind of heat if
you’re at the beach.”
ChrisHemsworthwasbornon11August1983,
in Melbourne, middle son of an English-teacher
mother and social-services counsellor father.
Growing up with elder brother Luke and younger
brother Liam, he experienced urban and outback
living as the family moved to and from Melbourne.
