ALOCASIA

9//ALOCASIA Focal points can come by way of artworks, patterns
and now plants, such as this oversized alocasia – it helps anchor
the space while providing a hit of vibrant colour through its glossy,
heart-shaped foliage and prominent veins. Warm temps is where
it’s happiest, so keep away from air-conditioners and cold drafts.
10//PHILODENDRON CORDATUM Like hanging plants, a trailing plant
like this holey one is quite sculptural as it can develop aerial roots that
attach to walls and furniture – cool! Artifi cial light sources are enough
for this type to survive, which makes it ideal for low-light homes.
It looks great in terrariums, too. R
