The 10-year-old daughter of
Bec and Lleyton Hewitt – who
dreams of becoming a big star- is preparing to walk in the
Melbourne Fashion Festival for
the second time alongside her
younger sister Ava.
It’s no surprise Mia’s at home
in the spotlight, having grown
up around her parents’ famous
friends and living a privileged
life most can only dream of.
And with Bec cheering from
the sidelines, it looks as though
the mother-of-three couldn’t
be prouder her eldest child is
following her lead into a career
in showbusiness.
Already old hands, this is the
second time that Mia and fi ve-
year-old Ava have modelled at
the annual event, which
attracts fashion lovers
from all over the world.
Last year the adorable duo
took to the runway to showcase
Target’s autumn collection.Born to shine
Proud dad Lleyton, 35, knew
Mia was destined to be a star
ever since she was a little girl.
“My daughter is already
following in my wife’s footsteps,”
he told Th e Project. “She’s the
actress and entertainer. She
wants to be in all the drama
programs already.”
Now he has retired from
tennis and the family are back
in Australia for good, Lleyton
and Bec can focus on launching
Mia into the spotlight.
“Bec is using some of her
showbiz connections to help
build up Mia’s career,” revealsa family friend. “Despite
Mia’s tender years, she’s
already a young woman.
She is very mature for
her age because of all
the world travel.”
For doting Bec, being
a supportive mum is key.
After all, the former Home
and Away actress knows
if it weren’t for her own
mum, Michelle, she would
never have become a star.
“My mum got me into
an acting agency,” the 32-
year-old told Girl.com.au.
“I did both acting and
performance side by side
as I grew up. I was in a few
commercials on the way,
and singing and dancing
right up until I got Home
and Away when I was 15.”C
