W
hat’s the hottest make-up
look in Hollywood? Well,
it all depends on what day it
is – trends move quickly and
I’m obsessed with keeping tabs on
the latest! I mean, who isn’t dying
to know what Rihanna will do
next? Or how much fuller Kylie
Jenner’s lips will actually become?
But with all the fads that come
and go, there’s one look I’ve noticed
everyone (yes, EVERYONE) has
rocked on the red carpet at
least once, and it’s super
easy to master once you
get the hang of it. Chic,
classy, timeless and always
on-trend, it requires just
a few simple products and
works regardless of whether
you’re going out for dinner or
heading to the shops.
Yep, I’m talking about
a retro-inspired look with
winged eyeliner and ruby
red lips. You know, what
Lauren Conrad, Rita Ora
and Scarlett Johansson rock
on the regular. It’s so glam
and old-school for red-carpet
appearances, but also really
fresh for a day out and about in
jeans. Seriously, I challenge you
to name a celeb that hasn’t made this
look their own at some point – and it
always looks amazing!
When I’m wearing it, I first make
sure my skin’s moisturised and looking
glowy. I love the Napoleon Perdis
Auto Pilot Radiance-Boosting Primer.
It offers a great starting point for any
look. Then, apply your mascara – yep,
before the eyeliner! Next, grab a black
liquid liner, like Napoleon Perdis Neo
Noir. Start drawing the wing in the
middle of your lash line, extending the
line out and angling it up as you move
towards the far corner of your eye.
But just remember the higher the line,
the bigger the wing! Then, join the
outer corner of the lash line to the
wing, colour it in and then fill in the
rest of the liner from the inner eye.
The key to making this look appear
fresh and modern is to choose a tinted
lip gloss, like the Napoleon Perdis
Luminous Lip Veil in Scarlet Fever, rather
than a full-on lipstick. One swipe and
you’re glam! This look can take a few
attempts to get right, but it’s worth
mastering now because it’s never
going out of fashion. Just
ask Hollywood! g
